There are nine academic joint clinical appointees, who have a 0.5 FTE appointment with the Otago District Health Board, one full time non-medical academic, 20+ clinical lecturers who hold a 0.05 to 0.2 FTE appointment with us, several grant funded research fellows and honorary teaching and research appointments.
Medical registrars also assist with the teaching and there is a very good postgraduate teaching programme available for them. Clinical staff contribute to the medical services within the Otago/Southland Region.
The support staff consists of six administrative/clerical staff and up to 21 research and technical support staff. There are a number of postgraduate students doing MMedSc, PhD, MD, or Master's in the department.
