Occupational Health and Safety
Occupational Health and Safety is taught within the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine. The emphasis is on the practical application of best practice models, to health and safety in New Zealand workplaces.
Environmental and Quality systems are also considered within the health and safety context and teaching staff are all actively involved in providing health and safety services to a variety of businesses.
Supporting the teaching and clinical practice in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine are researchers undertaking occupational health related research including:
- Acute care disaster preparedness in New Zealand and Oman; a comparative international analysis.
