Dr Trevor Scott, Mercy Hospital

Dr Scott is a highly successful businessman and philanthropist. He has served on many leading national companies in directorship and adviser roles. He is also the Chairman of the Mercy Hospital Board. He was made a Distinguished Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Directors in 2006. In 2007, he was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame. Later in 2008, his services to the community and businesses were recognised through Membership of the New Zealand Order of Merit 2008 New Year’s Honours list. Dr Scott is the donator behind a generous endowment for a professorial Chair in Urology in the University of Otago. He also helped establish the Otago Multiple Sclerosis Society in which he was the inaugural president and first life member.
