Te Ohonga Ake

Te Ohonga Ake translates as the Awakening. In the context of this reporting series it refers to an awakening towards the reality of Māori child and youth health status in Aotearoa.

Background to Te Ohonga Ake report series

The Te Ohonga Ake series focuses on the health of Māori children and young people at a national level. These reports are based on the series of health reports created for the Ministry of Health and District Health Boards and follow the same reporting cycle. From 2010, the Ministry of Health has provided additional funding for the series to report these indicators at a national level.
